bluegays
The Bluegays are one of the league’s 3 original teams, formed in 2023 when we were merely 3 intrepid Queer teams registered in a regular softball league, along with the Queerios and the Homo Runners (RIP).
Our vibe is very chill…we’re a bit less structured than some other teams, and tend to let players decide what position they want to play or order they want to bat in as we go along. We want everyone to get a chance to try out whatever they want, and we love to encourage our players!
If you don’t know, our team name is a hilarious gay play on the name of Canada’s only major league baseball team, the Toronto Blue Jays. Now you know!

The Catching Feelings are all about unconditional love, unexpected wins, celebrated losses, scraped knees, and plenty of high-fives. A team of misfits, brought together by the ball, always ready to hit, play, or hang out.

Fruit Bats
The Fruit Bats have been flying with the BMQS league since 2025 and placed 4th in our division during the 2026 playoffs. Our roster includes players from all levels of softball experience, most stepping onto the field for the first time, while others have been playing for decades and love sharing what they know. No matter the experience, every Fruit Bat is here for a good time: we love to cheer for sweet plays, whether from our team, the other team, or another team we winged by to watch. Win or lose, we bring our bats, our cheers, and our unmistakable fruity energy to the field. 🦇

Queerios
The Queerios were one of the 3 OG teams formed in 2023 (before BMQS was even founded!). Some of our players have been here since the very beginning, while others joined later. We’ve been through 3 different jerseys and too many team chants to count until we eventually found our vibe. We had a slow start to the 2026 season but in the end we came in 4th place in the Babyface Disco division! Whether we win or lose, we come to have fun and be silly, and you will usually find us hanging out watching the other games all day and mingling with the other teams. Yay Queerios! The Estros
Founded in 2025, The Estros went from a team of mostly complete beginners with little-to-no ball experience to two-time league champions! By allowing space for our players to learn and sharing plenty of positive vibes, we’ve created a safe place for our team to build confidence and reclaim sports for ourselves. We’re also one of the loudest teams in the league and look slick as hell while playing. Go Estros!
Sports!
Sports! is scrappy meets cute, with a healthy dose of chaos mixed in. We play smart, look fabulous, have fun, and occasionally pull off something so Sports!-y we surprise even ourselves. We’re here for excellent vibes, and taking queer softball exactly the right amount of seriously.

The Truxx Division champions in 2026, defending best vibes winners 2025, and the loudest team in the league! The pitches are a team all about having fun and hyping each other up. The team started during the 2025 season, finishing second to last in the standings before winning a championship in 2026. The Pitches love shouting nicknames, earning pizza and forehead kisses for outs, and having post-game picnics and parties in the park.
